October has been a big month for the Great Britain Lions, with the men’s Performance and Development teams playing their first fixtures since 2024. We are delighted to share that some of our players who were selected for the National Programmes earlier this year were chosen to represent their country for one (or more) of the three fixtures this month.
On Sunday 11 October the Great Britain Lions Development squad traveled to Georgia for the inaugural GB Development fixture. We are immensely proud of our Titans who were selected, with Scott Tomlinson (OL), Sam Wilson (WR) and Jonathan Omal (DB) making their international debuts for Great Britain. It was also Fin Norton’s (DB) first GB fixture for the senior GB squad, having played GB U19s previously.

All Titans made their own mark on the game. Sam showed the same calibre he showed all summer in his rookie season with the Titans - he outpaced his defensive counterparts, and scored a walk-in touchdown down the sideline. Scott absolutely dominated on the Lions’ offensive line. Jonny got an interception and was a stand-out on special teams. And playing at Safety, Fin was a force to be reckoned with. The next Sunday Sam and Fin both played again in the home game against Spain along with Charlie Martin (QB) in his own GB debut. Spain proved a tougher opponent than Georgia, but a fantastic learning experience nonetheless.

Later today the GB Performance team will play Finland away. Our Manchester Titans (past and present) traveling to Vantaa to represent their country are Djoss Balela (DB), James Eaton (DB), Sam Bloomfield (QB), Charlie Evans (DL), Aaron Wilmot (OL), Owen Smith (OL), and Alex Lenkowski (K). On the coaching staff our very own Head Coach George Foster will be in charge of the Defensive Backs together with retired veteran Sam Fossey. They are joined by ex-Titan Ryan Allen coaching Special Teams.
We wish everyone involved in the game tomorrow the best of luck. Whether it’s your first cap or your tenth, we couldn’t be more proud of every single Titan for your incredible achievement.
