Titans Rookie Camps Success

After an almost perfect 2010 season only weeks after the season was put to bed; Titans management were keen not sit on their laurels, and gave the go ahead to start preparations for The Manchester Titans Rookie Camps. As has been the attempt over the last couple of years the aim of the Titans Rookie Camps was to introduce new people, and attract them to the game of American Football in Manchester.

Although the idea of growing squad numbers and talent levels were high on the agenda the main aim of the sessions were to have FUN and introduce the game to anyone who wanted to come down regardless of their experience levels. Included over the sessions were those who had never picked up a football to those who had once played and looking to get rid of a little football “rust”. This would all take place whilst making sure all those who came down were given a solid basic understanding of some of the key fundamentals of the game.

The Camps went ahead and took part over 3 Sundays in October with the sessions taking place at Wright Robinson College, Manchester which has fantastic new modern indoor and outdoor facilities. Over the 3 sessions 42 new Titan Rookies were introduced to the game of American Football. All were keen, enthusiastic and are looking forward to starting the real training in the New Year.

One Coach commented “It was great to see new guys coming down and getting involved for their very first time. There was plenty of new talent on show and some of the players currently in the squad will need to be working hard in their off season and improving on their own game; as come the New Year there will be some good battles for squad positions”.

The Titans Management would like to thank all those who attended, and too those that helped out either before or on the days making the Rookie Camp a great success, with a special warm thank you to our host on theses sessions the staff of Wright Robinson College.

Roll on 2011 !!
