Manchester kick-started their scoring early in the second quarter. After James Newnes had already blocked a punt in the 1st quarter, Ryan Newton showcased his incredible vision and athleticism on a long punt return for a touchdown.

After a slow start, the offense joined in the scoring with a two play, 70-yard drive capped with Sam Bloomfield firing a deep laser to Adam Bamber to push the score to 14-0.

The Titans went back to the well of throwing bombs, with Bloomfield this time connecting with James Newnes for a 40-yard score in what is developing into a deadly connection.

Cornerbacks Lewis Newton and Ryan Allen picked off Newcastle’s quarterback before the half, giving the Manchester outfit a nine-point lead going into the break, something they wouldn’t be content with.

On the opening play of the third quarter, Joe Nicholson scampered for a 70-yard gain, setting up Bloomfield to punch the ball home from short yardage, pushing the Titans lead to 28-12.

The Titans defense added to their turnover total once again, with Lewis Newton getting his second pick. The Offense capitalised quickly, with Joe Nicholson scampering home from 18-yard out just four plays later.

Not to be outdone by their brother, the two other Newton’s combined for the next score. After Adam forced the fumble, Ryan scooped the ball to take it to the house for the defense’s first score of the season, and Newton’s second of the day.

After Jack Hipperson’s interception gave the defense consecutive drives with turnovers, the Titans offense provided the punishment. Bloomfield hit a wide-open Nicholson for his fourth touchdown of the day, taking the score to 49-12.

The Titans offense capped off a successful day with one more score. After George Slade’s outstanding sideline catch to move the chains, Manchester added their sixth offensive touchdown through the Garry Maybanks’ smooth running taking him home for his first score of the year.

Six turnovers and two defensive and special teams touchdowns helped the Titans run out as 56-12 winners as they sit perched on top of the NFC1 North after three games.

Manchester faces a quick turnaround as they welcome the 1-2 Doncaster Mustangs to Belle Vue, as the Mustangs hope to get revenge for their season opening 41-0 defeat at the hands of the Titans.
