Juniors lose rematch to Jets

The Manchester Titans Junior team went down 22-6 to the Coventry Jets Juniors, after winning the reverse fixture 28-16 at Salford City Stadium three weeks earlier.

The first half was a story of ball control as the Titans uncharacteristically turned the ball over four times to go in at the half trailing 14-0. After the break and a stop by the Titans D the offense drove down the field, capped off by a TD run from RB Joe Moura da Luz. The 2 pt conversion was unsuccessful, making the score 14-6 to Coventry.

After both defenses held firm on the opposing team’s next possessions, Coventry scored on a long run play and converted the 2 pt attempt to make the score 22-6. With little time remaining on the clock, Manchester were unable to march down the field and put any more points on the score board.

The Titans Juniors next game is away to the Highlands Wildcats on Sunday 21st July.
