Women’s team player heads to Finland

Titans Women’s team player and academy graduate Keely Edmonds is on her way to Finland to play 11 v 11 Football for the Jyvaskyla Jaguars in the Finnish Maple Women’s League.  The Jaguars play in the 1-Division which is the 2nd of 3 tiers in Finland and will face the Mikkeli Bouncers, Hynvinkaa Falcons, Raisio West Coast Phoenix and Tampere Saints.  The season start on 21st May and runs through to the play-offs in September.

Keely joined the Titans U17 team in 2015 and played for two season as both a running back and wide receiver, a key part of the 2016 team that made the Britbowl plate national finals she scored a Touchdown at the finals tournament against the London Warriors.  Keely has also played for the Titans Women’s team, playing in the Opal Series (flag) in 2015/16 season and both the Opal and Sapphire Series (full contact) in 2016/17.

A young players, her stats from the 2016/17 show how quickly she has developed, in Opal she threw 2 passes, 1 for a touchdown, carried the ball 10 times for a total of 48 yards and made 26 catches for 205 yards scoring 2 touchdowns and 2 PATs.  During the recent Sapphire Series she made 12 carries for 46 yards and caught 5 passes for 33 yards, running home 2 PAT attempts.  Keely impresses with her tenacity in blocking situations and speed when carrying the football, she possesses a fantastic spirit and never say die spirit that despite being one of the youngest players at the Titans lifts the players around her.

We wish Keely all the best for her time in Finland and will keep the Titans family up to date with her progress.
