Under 17’s 2015 Season Preview

The Titans under 17’s or Youth Team has worked extremely hard this last year, especially as a brand new team fully of amazing rookies. With all under the age of 15 years old, it was always going to be a massive learning curve for both ourselves and the Players. Sadly, the results did not always go in the Titans’ favour, yet the experience acquired by both the coaching staff and the players has both been valuable and positive leading to a well established and confident atmosphere to the youth set-up.

During our off season, we held out annual Titans rookie camp which saw huge number of players coming down to try out American football, with many getting their first taste and loving the rush. The day involved trying out all of the different yet vital skills, which are the base of every position and the foundations to a strong team, new experiences and friends.

The outcome of this the Under 17s programme has seen our Youth Team family double in size and we welcomed our two new female players who will be kiting up this season to show #ThisGirlCan.
As we look ahead to the coming year we are excited to take our knowledge, experience and skills forward to be a part of the BAFANL Under 17s- Northern Conference 2.

We have some long journeys ahead of us this year as we get to play new and existing Teams all over the Country in tournaments with Newcastle, Doncaster and Tamworth just being a few of them. Where we will have the chance to play against; Woodham Warriors, Leicester Falcons, Pennine Panthers, Doncaster Mustangs, Tamworth Phoenix, Newcastle Vikings and Leeds Academy.

On a personal note, this has been my first year at the Titans as a different part of the team; as a player myself, in our new Ladies Team. It’s been a big change for me, from standing on the sidelines, arranging games and greeting new players and family, to being on the field myself amongst all the action. I would like to take the opportunity thank my committed Team of coaches and understanding players for their support while I have judged both being a player and a manager.

Our team is every growing with the additions of some great characters, athletes, coaches and parents all working as one big team in the Under 17s program and we will be excited to see them succeed this coming season.

With our Under 17s Team due to take part in this year’s pre-season tournament with Chester Romans and new team Lancashire Wolverines on Saturday 28th March. Their main season start at home at AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday 11th April, playing Doncaster Mustangs, Tamworth Phoenix and Newcastle Vikings.

We look forward to seeing you all on Gameday to show your support.
