The Titans’ U19 Head Coach Phill Chapman has informed the committee of his decision to step down at the end of the 2017 season.  Coach Chapman has been with the Titans as a player and coach since 2003 holding many positions during that time.  He took over the role of U19 head coach at the beginning of the 2015 season and has overseen three very successful years which has seen the team’s first play-off run, the first division title and the teams first silverware.

Coming off a 2 win season in 2014, 2015 saw the Titans lose only twice in the regular season to post a 6-2 record and finish second in the division, the team’s first play-off experience saw a dominating 35-0 victory away at Doncaster before losing in the semi-finals to the Birmingham Lions.  2016 saw the team build on this success, a undefeated season which included a nailbiting last game win away at Leeds Assassins to clinch the teams first division title.  The play-off run ended at the semi-final stage again with a 12-0 loss to the East Kilbride Pirates.

2017 was another successful year, finishing with 1 loss in the regular season the Titans has the No 1 ranked Offense and Defence in terms of points scored and conceded and qualified for the Britbowl trophy final, a heartbreaking 18-15 loss to Highland meant the Titans took home the runners-up shield.

Phill leaves the team with a 17-3 regular season record from his time in charge, three play-off runs, one divisional title and a runners-up shield, his legacy will be leaving the Titans U19 team in the strongest position it has ever been in with players graduating into the Titans Adult teams.  The committee and everyone at the Titans would like to thank Phill for his efforts over the last 3 years and hope that after another short break he is back in Royal Blue sooner rather than later.
