Titans to play home game inside AJ Bell Stadium!

The Manchester Titans, sponsored by Manchester Printers, are delighted to announce that their June 1st Fixture against the Crewe Railroaders will be played in the AJ Bell Stadium (formerly Salford City Stadium).

As announced exclusively on Double Coverage this morning //dblcoverage.com/manchester-titans-stadium-move/ the Titans have managed to secure the main field within the 12,000 seater stadium for the fixture against Crewe. The team currently trains on the 3G artificial turf and plays games on the grass 2nd team pitch outside the stadium, but they hope that the trial could turn into a long-term residency.

The deal sees the Titans benefit from professional ground staff marking the pitch to requirements, staff to cover turnstiles and the use of the stadium’s extensive media contacts to promote the game. The Titans hope to join the Salford Reds, the Sale Sharks and the Manchester United Reserve Team as regular users of the main stadium. This comes on the back of the Titans signing a 3 year deal to stay at AJ Bell Stadium.

Tickets to the game will be ÂŁ5, with under 12s free of charge, and the Manchester side are hoping to sell 1,000 in order to cover the costs of the ground, with any more funds raised being used towards the ongoing development of the Youth and Junior teams.

“We’ve been in talks since October and everybody has worked hard to get the deal done,” said Titans’ General Manager Jonathan Homer. “We know that American football is marketable in the UK and our long term goal is to not only make profit from our game days as opposed to paying for them but to provide a highly entertaining game day for our fans.
“We are confident of selling the required tickets and the marketing campaign is already ready and just requires implementing.”
Homer also thanked the Walney Terriers and the Crewe Railroaders for rescheduling games to allow this trial to go ahead, adding “they’ve been fantastic, and we know that Crewe are as excited as us to play inside the venue.”

The game kicks off at 1pm and tickets can be purchased from the stadium or from the Titans directly using the Titans PayPal account – tickets@manchestertitans.co.uk
